Delaware Ultimate was started in 2008 by Josh Twilley, as an independently run organization, with PADA in the background providing insurance and registration support. Josh continued to run all aspects of the league until 2013, when Delaware started its first Open League, at which point we recruited our first community volunteer. To harness the growing community interest in helping Delaware Ultimate grow, Josh created the Council to run the organization. Until 2020, Council elections were run by Josh. Council, Coordinators, and Delaware volunteers solely continued to run, maintain, and manage leagues until Spring of 2023 with little reliance on PADA for day-to-day league operation.
Delaware Ultimate has always maintained its own identity; we create our own disc designs (including championship and spirit discs), have our own website, manage our field relationship, run our own drafts, coordinate our own leagues and, until recently, run our own elections.
Delaware Ultimate is an inclusive ultimate frisbee league for adults of all ages and experience levels. We're located in Wilmington, Delaware.
