Hey There!

👋 Welcome to the home of the Delaware Ultimate Community! 🥏 We welcome players of all experience levels.

Leagues for all skill levels

Delaware Ultimate Community prides itself on being inclusive and welcoming to all. We offer leagues for all skill levels, whether you're picking up a frisbee for the first time or have years of experience, you'll find a supportive community and a league that matches your skill level. We celebrate the diversity of our community by providing a welcoming atmosphere where every player can find their place and grow. No matter where you're starting from, you'll find a place in DUC.

Mixed Leagues - The Mixed League follows a 4-3 gender ratio, ensuring women-matching players are well-represented on the field. This format allows for balanced competition and equal opportunities for all players.

WMP Leagues - Our Women-Matching League is open to all woman matching players, designed to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for all skill levels. Connect with fellow players, improve your skills, and experience the spirit of ultimate frisbee in a community that values and promotes inclusivity and equality on the field.

Pickup

Looking for a casual game of ultimate frisbee? Join the Delaware Ultimate Community (DUC) for pickup games in both Newark and Wilmington. Our pickup sessions are the perfect opportunity for those who want to play ultimate frisbee without the commitment of a league. Whether you're new to the sport or an experienced player looking to enjoy a game, our pickup games are open to everyone. No registration required—just show up ready to play!

Hat Tournaments

Hat tournaments are a fun and inclusive event where players of all skill levels come together to play in a friendly and supportive environment. In a hat tournament, players register individually rather than as part of a team. Teams are then formed by randomly drawing names from a "hat," ensuring a mix of skill levels and promoting community and sportsmanship. This format encourages players to meet new people, improve their skills, and enjoy the spirit of the game. Whether you're a complete novice or an experienced player, a hat tournament offers a unique and enjoyable ultimate frisbee experience.

The bylaws were prepared after researching bylaws from over a half-dozen other ultimate organizations, including PADA!  The intention of the bylaws is to be lean, transparent, and flexible.

"Membership" is important to include in the bylaws when filing for nonprofit status, and in the DUC bylaws it is presented in the most flexible way - as "established by vote of the board".  One of the first policies the board would need to establish is what constitutes membership; we envision membership to be something along the lines of "anybody who participated in the DUC in the past xx months/years/calendar years", and since the league is built around accessibility, the expectation is there would never be a fee for membership.
